조숙증(조기 성징 발생), Premature adrenarchy
- 비만한 여아들의 퓨버티는 비만하지 않은 여아들의 퓨버티가 오는 나이보다 더 일찍 오는 것이 보통이다.
- 여아의 신체 질량 지수(BMl)가 85~95퍼센타일이면 앞으로 비만해 질 가능성이 더 많다.
- 여아의 신체 질량 지수가 95퍼센타일 이상이고 초등학교 4년생 여아의 유방발육이 진찰 상 탄너 2단계이거나 그 이상이고,
- 초등학교 5년생 여아의 유방발육이 진찰 상 탄너 3단계이거나 그 이상이고,
- 여아의 엄마가 관찰하고 보고한 기준으로 초등학교 5년생 여아의 유방발육이 탄너 3단계이거나 그 이상이고
- 그 여아의 엄마의 보고에 의해 초등학교 6학년이 되기 전 월경을 시작했으면 그 여아의 퓨버티가 조기에 왔다고 본다.

Premature adrenarchy
• It is common for obese girls to come earlier than non-obese girls have a puberty. • Girls with a body mass index (BMl) of 85 to 95 percent are more likely to become obese in the future.
• The girl’s body mass index is 95 percent or higher, and the breast development of a 4-year-old girl is tanner stage 2 or higher on physical examination;
• The breast development of a 5-year-old girl in elementary school is 3 or higher than the tanner stage,
• Based on the observation and report by the mother of the girl, the breast development of a girl born in 5th grade is tanner stage 3 or higher.
• If the girl’s mother reported that she started menstruating before she was in 6th grade, the girl’s puberty is considered premature.
• In other words, it can be defined as having precocious puberty. (Source – Pediatric News, July 2007).
